There are two kinds of public buses in Regensburg - a long version and a normal version. The long ones have an additional section added on the back that is connected by a jointed segment that resembles an accordion from the outside.
Today, I was sitting on one of these buses near the joint. As the bus rounded a hard corner, everything stretched and compressed to accommodate, squeaking the metal in the joints. Today, the bus joints squeaked a precisely on-pitch and rhythmically exact "Do-Sol-Fa!" -- the theme jingle for the American NBC television network (Ding-Ding-Dong!). It was so correct that it just startled me.
