Analogy

In studying for my Pre-Modern Chinese History exam (coming up in t-minus 5 hours 18 minutes and counting), I come across:

II. [...]
F. Song-Jin relations continue to decline, with the Jin now clear that the Song army was weak. Jin invasions in 1125 and 1126 aimed at putting political pressure on the Song, but somewhat inadvertently, resulted in the capture of the Song capital on 9 January 1127, along with the emperor, the retired emperor, and most of the imperial clan.

And then a note just underneath dictates an example that our professor used,
- Professor Lorge's dog chases a cat. The cat just freezes. The dog has no idea what to do with it afterwards. --> Same thing with capturing the capital.

which I happen to find somewhat useful because history is sometimes just plain dry without images popping into your head of a cat going, "Eh?" and a dog going, "... rrrRgh?"
